Lois Tabor 1928-2002

TABOR, MINNICK, CRANDELL, LILLEGRAVEN

Lois Tabor, 94, a resident of the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Stratford, and formerly of Fraser, died Sunday at Mercy Hospice in Johnston of cancer. She was born July 27, 1928, in Dana, the daughter of Orville and Bertha (Minnick) Crandell. She married Jack Tabor April 6, 1962, in Blue Earth, MN.

She graduated from Dana High School in 1946. She and her husband lived in the Fraser area for most of their lives before moving to the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in 1997. She was a homemaker and in earlier years was a secretary for many businesses, including the National Corn Growers in Boone. She was a member of Primitive Methodist Church in Fraser and the American Legion Auxiliary in Boone. Her hobbies included watching sports, playing bingo, needlepoint and dong word puzzles.

Her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Denton and Donald Crandell preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Randall Tabor of Boone; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Michael Lillegraven of Johnston; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ivan and Joan Crandell of Grand Junction and Hubert and Marie Crandell of Ames; one grandson, Mason Lillegraven of Johnston; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall streets, Boone. Burial was in Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
