Lloyd Ulrick, 87, Stratford, died Sunday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames of complications from pneumonia. He had been a resident of the Stratford Nursing and Rehab Center in Stratford for the past two and a half years. He was born Oct. 2, 1913, in Stratford, the son of Wallie and Anna (Adamson) Ulrick. He married Lorraine Milburn Myers Sept. 6, 1941, in Blue Earth, Minn.

In earlier years he farmed for Marshall Silvey northeast of Boone. He later moved to Stratford and farmed with E.H. Hawbaker until he and his wife bought their own farm north of Stratford. The couple continued to farm until their retirement in 1979, when they moved to Stratford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in October of 1985; one son, Butch, in December of 1999; four brothers; and one sister. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jerry and Ed Vinchattle of Stratford; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Jess Ulrick of Boone; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Ulrick of Waterloo; two sisters, Arlene Ulrick of Stratford, and Doris Dodge of South Pasadena, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

The body has been cremated no visitation will be held.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford with the Rev. Dale Schoening officating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery northof Stratford.

Stark-Welin Funeral Directors of Stratford is in charge of arrangments.
