Dorothy Elizabeth Wiley 1917-2001

Dorothy Elizabeth Wiley, 83, a resident of the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone and formerly of 621 Benton St., Boone, died Thursday at the home of complications of infection from knee surgery. She was born Nov. 23, 1917, in Boone, the daughter of Mr. Davidson and Elizabeth (Mugan) Davidson. She married Glen William Wiley in November of 1938 in Boone.

She lived all of her life in Boone and graduated from Boone High School in 1935. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Boone and her hobbies included traveling with her husband to Texas and taking trips into Mexico during the winter months.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; and one brother, Conrad Davidson. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jan and Nancy Wiley of Ames; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Blockinger of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Chad Wiley of Ames, Christopher Wiley of Memphis, Tenn., Shannon Blockinger of Cedar Rapids, and Kimberly Ehlert and her husband, Mike, of Cedar Rapids; and one great-grandson, Glen Michael Ehlert of Cedar Rapids.

The body has been cremated.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Boone Memorial Gardens in Boone with the Rev. Dr. Ron Franklin officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Boone Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be given to the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone.

Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, 503 Story St., Boone, is in charge of arrangements.
