Mary Margaret Fierke, 86, formerly of 720 Southwest Fourth St., Ogden, died Nov. 25 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone of congestive heart failure. She was born June 21, 1914, in Ogden, the daughter of Anna "Dot" D. Pauls and Wylie M. Mullen, Sr. She married Norman G. Fierke June 15, 1940, in Ogden.

After graduating from Ogden High School, she received a bachelor's of science degree in nursing from the University of Iowa, where she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honorary Society. Later, she did graduate work in obstetrics in Chicago, Ill. She was employed as office manager and insurance agent for Boehm Insurance Agency in Ogden for more than 40 years. She was past president of the Ogden Business and Professional Women, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Catherine's Guild. She held numerous leadership positions in the Order of Eastern Star and was a long-time parishioner at Grace Episcopal Church in Boone, where she served several terms on the bishop's committee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; one great-grandson; and one daughter, Wynne Margaret Meyer. Survivors include one son, Thomas G. Fierke of Slidell, La.; six granddaughters, Rosalyn M. (Meyer) Branaman of Ogden, Celia (Meyer) Reuer of Beaufort, S.C., Janann (Meyer) Rogillio of Ogden, Angela (Meyer) Shimada of Ames, Veronica Helen Fierke of Slidell, La., and Caroline Margaret Fierke of Slidell, La.; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dr. Wylie H. Mullen, Jr., of Joliet, Ill.

The body was cremated.

Memorial services were held Thursday at Grace Episcopal Church in Boone with the Rev. Thomas Gehlsen officiating. Burial of the cremains was in Grace Episcopal Church Columbarium in Boone.

Memorials may be given to Grace Episcopal Church, 707 Eighth St., Boone, Iowa 50036.

Stark-Welin Funeral Directors of Boone was in charge of arrangements.
