Jessica Lenora Miller, 27, Boone, formerly of Selma, AL, died Tuesday at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames of cancer. She was born on Dec. 29, 1973 in Montgomery, AL, the daughter of Wallace Lane and Kathryn Diane (Nichols) Haney. She married Alan David Miller January 25, 1993 in Boone.

She graduated in 1991 from the Dallas County High School near Selma, AL. She moved to Boone in 1992 from Selma, AL. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Boone and enjoyed singing. When she was a teenager she sang at weddings and she entered many pageants when she was young. She enjoyed her family. She worked as a certified nurses aide at the Northcrest Retirement Community in Ames, at the Ledges Manor Nursing Home of Boone, at the Ogden Manor Nursing Home in Ogden and at the Evangelical Free Church home of Boone.

Survivors include her husband of Boone; two sons, Cory Miller and Jacob Miller; one daughter, Ashley Kathryn Miller of Boone; her mother of Selma, AL; her father of Tallassee, AL; her stepmother, Debra Kilcrease of Coffee Springs, AL, her maternal grandmother, Annie Florence Nichols of Selma, AL; her maternal grandfather, Jesse Woodrow Nichols Sr. of Selma, AL; her paternal grandmother, Jettie Mae McClain or Montgomery, AL; 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, Alisha and Chuck Brooks of Opp, AL, Amanda and Robert J. Locke of Selma, AL, Brandy and Brian Grudzinski of Coffee Springs, AL, Kelli and Charles Batson of Coffee Springs, AL, and Crystal and Adam Wood of Tallassee, AL; and her brother, Jason Haney of Tallassee, AL.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the First Evangelical Free Church, Boone, with Don Howard officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Southwest of Boone.

Friends may call at Schroeder-Walter- Funeral Home, 503 Story St., Boone, today from 8 to 10:30 a.m. and at the church from 11:30 a.m. to the time of service. Memorials may be made to the family to be used at their discretion.
