Monte Phillip Anderson, 106 S. Ringold, Boone, IA, age 62, died Monday, October 21, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines from complications of lymphoma cancer.

Monte worked for 38 years for International Truck and Engine (Navistar) and was the top national salesman for the Truck Parts Division. Through his work, he cultivated many friends across the country. Like any natural born salesman, Monte truly believed he was helping his customers get the best deal they could. For him, friendship came first and business second.

Monte and the love of his life, Dede Mondt, found each other in September 2009. They were inseparable from that time until the moment he left this earth.

Monte was predeceased by his parents William (Wild Bill) and Ruby Phipps Anderson, a sister Debbie, and two brothers, Paul and Larry. He is survived by his sister Cheryl and numerous nieces and nephews. He loves and is proud of his stepson Jason Olhemus, wife Niki and their sons Jake and Jadon.

Monte requested that no formal funeral service be held. Memorial plans in keeping with his wishes will be announced at a later date. Donations in his honor may be sent to his home. For an extended obituary go to www.ernstfuneralhome.com.
