Josie “Honey” White, 88, died peacefully on Monday, September 20, 2010, at her home in the arms of her loving husband, Toad; and was surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, at Iles Funeral Homes, Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid. Cremation rites will follow the service on Thursday and private committal services will take place at a later date.
Honey was born on March 21, 1922 in Woodward, Iowa and will live forever in the hearts of her family which include her husband of 61 years, Charles “Toad” White of Madrid; two sons, Dick (Jolene) White of Madrid and Jim (Sharon) White of Des Moines; three daughters, Linda White, Pam (Roger) Jagerson and Rose (Dave) Sheehan, all of Madrid; twelve grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves behind a host of many, many nieces, nephews and friends who love her dearly.
Even though she had Alzheimer’s, Honey never lost her sense of humor, and was still able to put a smile on everyone’s face.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
