Life Sketch:
Phillip Boone, a long time resident of Madrid and for 88 years a resident of Boone County, passed away July 24, 1951. He was one of the three surviving members of the Tyler and Mary Boone family who located in the county in the earlier years of its settlement and occupied a prominent part in its development.
Mr. Boone was born in Worth township, March 7, 1863, making him at the time of his death 88 years, 4 months, and 16 days of age.
He was united in marriage to Miss Susie Bathrick March 13, 1884 and they engaged in farming which was continued until Mrs. Boone's death in 1892. Afterwards, Mr. Boone was employed by the Milwaukee railroad's until ill health forced him to discontinue. He has been at the Boone county home the past few years where his death occurred.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Hull of the Meadow Grove community and Mrs. Julia Bates of Corwallis, Oregon; a number of nieces and nephews and his friends. Seven brothers and sisters have preceded him in death.
