ERNEST P. SAWYER

Ernest P. Sawyer, 74, of Sycamore, former many year resident of West Dundee died Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Pine Acres Rehab & Living Center in DeKalb. He was born in Boone, Iowa on March 23, 1932, the son of Harold and Louise (nee Thorson) Sawyer. Mr. Sawyer was a former 29 year employee of Osco Drug Co.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Beverly J. (nee Norris) Sawyer. They married on July 3, 1955; their children, David (Jill) Sawyer of Carpentersville, John (Kathy) Sawyer of San Diego, CA and Barbara Sawyer of New River, AZ; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Shannon, Ashley, Alyssa, Evan, Stephanie and Alex; his brothers, John (Charlotte) Sawyer of Boone, IA, and Tom (Shari) Sawyer of Albuquerque, NM; his sisters, Miriam McBride of Charlotte, NC, Mary Robinson of Perris, CA and Charlotte (Jerry) Millard of Silvis, IL; and a brother-in-law, Lavern Baker of Boone, IA. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Beth Baker.

A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday March 10, 2007 at 11 AM in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 310 E. Main Street in East Dundee. The Rev. Phillip Baerwolf will officiate. The family will be receiving friends at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until time of service. Please omit flowers; memorials maybe made to either the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, The DeKalb County Hospice or the Pine Acres Rehab & Living Center. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is in charge of arrangements.
