Herbert Frobell, 89, Boone, died March 16, 2003, at the Evangelical Free Church Home.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall streets. The Rev. Dr. Herbert Foxworthy will officiate.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Gilbert with a formal folding and presentation of the American flag by the Boone Veterans Council.
Mr. Forbell, son of Joseph and Effie (Crone) Forbell, was born on Oct. 19, 1913, in Canton, Ill.
He served in the army during World War II.
On June 8, 1941, he married Esther Sorenson in Peoria, Ill.
He was a music instructor in the Boone and Ames area, teaching guitar. He also worked as a painter and carpenter.
He was a secretary for 23 years for the Musicians Union. He was a member of the Marion Street United Methodist church, AARP, and the Veterans of Foreign War 817.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter and one brother
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be until 0 p.m. today at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel. The family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
