The Boone Standard Saturday May 6, 1882

Mr. Adolph Schroeder, who lost his leg on the engine at Colo on the 26th of April, died of his injuries last Monday evening, May 1. He leaves a family of six children and his wife to mourn the loss of a protector. He was not a member of Engineer's protective association and consequently his family will not be entitled to the financial benefits which accrue to members in the case of death. He was a member of the Workman order in good and regular standing at the time of his death. The funeral exercises were from the Presbyterian Church on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. H.N.Payne officiating.
