RITES HELD FOR DENNIS RAFFERTY

Rockwell City Resident, 83, Is Buried Wednesday at Boone

Dennis Rafferty, 83, died at his home here Sunday night. Funeral services were conducted at Sacred Heart Church, Boone, Wednesday, and burial was made at Boone.

Mr. Rafferty is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. W. R. Waterman of Rockwell City and Mrs. C. J. Tyrrell of Fort Dodge, and one son, C. P. Rafferty of Rockwell City. Eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. One son, Homer, died about 30 years ago.

Mr. Rafferty was born June 4, 1855, at Rochester, N.Y. He came to Clinton, Ia., where he worked as an engineer for the Chicago & Northwestern railroad, later taking up stationary engineering.

He was married Sept. 26, 1880, to Ellen Fitzgerald. They lived at Boone until 1920, when they moved to Rockwell City.

In addition to immediate relatives, attendants at the funeral included Miss Alice Manning of Omaha, Neb., a niece, and P. A. Scanlan of Clinton, a nephew of Mr. Rafferty, and Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Wilson of Rockwell City.
