Rose Anna Meta (Hasstedt) Lindell Rose Ann Lindell, 91, of Ames, died Sunday, May 16, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames. Burial will be in Story Memorial Gardens in Ames.
Rose Ann (Hasstedt) Lindell was born Aug. 1, 1912, in Boone County to Charles and Minnie (Ahrens) Hasstedt. She was baptized the same month. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran School north of Boone and was confirmed in May 1926. In 1930, she went to work at Rollins Hosiery Mills in Boone. She married Amos Lindell of Boone on April 2, 1932. The family lived in Boone until moving to Maywood, Ill., in 1941. In 1950, the family moved to Perry. The family moved to Boone in 1955 when her husband became employed at Iowa State University. In 1960, she started to work at Bourns Inc., and the family moved to Ames. She retired from Bourns in 1973.
She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church of Ames. She was very dedicated to the church and spent an untold number of hours sewing quilts for the Lutheran World Relief.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers.
She is survived by three sons, Donald (Barbara) Lindell of Vero Beach, Fla., Mike (Mary) Lindell of Ames and Gerald (Linda) Lindell of Arlington, Texas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Louise Browning of Boone and Eleanor Swanson of Iola, Kan.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.
Memorial contributions may be given to Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames.
