RELATIVES, FRIENDS PAY FINAL TRIBUTE TO MRS. V. BRIGGS
Funeral Services At Central Church of Christ
Rev. G.H. Sutton Conducts Last Rites
Deceased, a Native of Iowa, Came to Boone at the Age of 16 and
Had Always Resided in This Community

In parting tribute to the late Mrs. Viola Briggs, relatives and friends assembled for funeral services Thursday Afternoon, December 19, at 2:15 o'clock at the Schroeder chapel and at 2:30 o'clock at the Central Church of Christ. The Rev. G. Harvey Sutton, pastor, conducted the last rites, speaking words of comfort to The bereaved family.
"In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide with Me" were sung during the services by Mrs. L.J. Sellers, accompanied at the Reuter organ by Miss Sarra Perrine.

Interment took place in Linwood Park Cemetery, east, those assisting with the casket being John Pohl, Thomas Hughes, M.P. McCracken, B.M. Wilkinson, T.L. Jones and Charles Franson.
Mrs. Guy Hoover, Mrs. Mary Shearer and Mr and Mrs. Richard White took care of the many beautiful floral pieces which expressed the sympathy of relatives and friends of the family.

Born In Iowa

Viola Bell Briggs was born in Tipton, Iowa, October 24, 1874 and passed away at her home in Boone, IA, December 16, 1935 at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 22 days.
When she was 16 years of age she came to Boone to make her home with her aunt, Mrs Mannie Grimm and had since lived in this community.
February 1894 she was united in marriage to Alonzo M Briggs, at Boone, IA.
To this union three children were born. Her husband passed away 13 years ago and one son Glenn, passed away 2 years ago.

Those Surviving

She leaves to mourn her departure her aged mother, Mrs Barbara Cripliver; one sister, Mrs Lillian Garrison: her two children Mrs Iris Halverson of Des Moines and Harry O Briggs of Boone, IA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and a host of friends.
The deceased was a member of Central Church of Christ of Boone, and the Rebekah Lodge of Boone. She also belonged to the Ladies Samaritan club.
