Mamie Charlotte Doran, 78, 329 S. Boone St. died at the Boon County Hospital Saturday, June 8. She had been a patient there since Jan. 20.
She was born Dec. 29, 1895 in Beaver the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Justin R. Doran. She was a retired school teacher, member of the Presbyterian Church, JL, P.E.O., Boone Woman's Club, past president of the Amercian Legion Auxiliary, Gray Ladies, White Shrine and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Justin and Olive Doran, 10 brothers, Lester G. Doran, Alfred T., Alexander R., Eugene B., Benjamin B., Oliver E., Lucien S., Lant H., Milo T. and John K.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Glen (Maude) Campbell of Boone and Mrs. Perry (Daisy) Rinker of Beaver and several nieces and nephews including great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 10 at 2 p.m. at the Stark-Welin Chapel with Rev. Loren Parman officiating. Burial was in the Benaver Cemetery at Beaver.
The Stark-Welin Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

This obituary was found at the Ericson Public Library in Boone. The library has several 3-ring binders filled with pages of multiple obituaries photocopied on to one page. The volume that this particular obit was found in is unknown, but the page # is 99. The title of the newspaper is typed in at the top of the page, along with the issue date. It reads "Boone News-Republican, Boone, Iowa, Mon., June 10, 1974."
