Larry L. Elsberry, age 66 of Boone, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at his home in Boone.
Larry was born on July 30, 1942 in Boone, Iowa, the son of August Benjamin and Ruby Marie (Williams) Elsberry. He lived in Boone County all his life growing up in Fraser, Iowa. He graduated from Grand Community School with the class of 1960. He served in the Army National Guard from February 1960 to February 1964. He worked as a pattern maker at Quinn's Machine and Foundry in Boone from June 1961 to August 1, 2004.
Larry enjoyed the outdoors, going hiking, looking for mushrooms, fishing, hunting and enjoying spending time with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, August.
Larry is survived by his mother, Ruby M. Elsberry of Boone; his son, Alan Elsberry (Kelli) of Boone; his two grandchildren, Shelby and Kayli Elsberry of Boone; his sister, Gloria Stiles (Dan) of Boone; his sister, Jan Zimbeck (Dick) of Nixa, Missouri; also his seven nephews and seven nieces.
His body has been cremated. Private Family Memorial Services
will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the family, and will be used at their discretion.
