Evelyn Gilliam, age 76, of 401 Cottage Street in Pilot Mound, died March 13, 2009, at the Ogden Manor in Ogden.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, March 17, 2009, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets, at which time the family will be present. Following the visitation, her body will be cremated.
Evelyn was born in Pilot Mound on June 10, 1933, the daughter of John and Lillian (Tilley) Anderson. On September 7, 1950, she married Harold Eugene Gilliam in Boone. The couple later divorced. Evelyn was a homemaker and she enjoyed fishing, vegetable and flower gardening, and listening to country music.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters: Irene Huntley, Doris Banford, Honey Lou Hefler, Delores Stoneburner, and Leona Erickson; five brothers: Harold, Tom, Joe, Jack, and Dwight Anderson. She is survived by two sons, Harold Eugene Gilliam II and wife Donna of Richwood, West Virginia and Daniel Gilliam of Boone; a daughter, Kelly Riley of Richwood, West Virginia; two brothers, Duane and Gary Anderson, both of Boone; three sisters: Lillian Lind and Helen "Peg" Bielfelt, both of Boone and Valetta Coates of Malvern; three grandchildren, Tehra, Tanner, and Tyler Riley; two great grandchildren; her former husband, Gene Gilliam of Pilot Mound; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.
