Louise A. Hoglund, former resident of Westwood Retirement Community of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and past resident of Carrcroft, Wilmington, DE passed away on January 31, 2009. Born in Boone, IA, Louise lived for many years in Wilmington, DE and in Ridgewood, NJ. She is survived by her adult children John Hoglund and Pat of Seattle, WA, Joyce Brand and Mark of Niceville, FL, Jill Russell of Austin, TX and Eric Hoglund and Holly of Laurel, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-four years, Paul F. Hoglund.
Louise had a strong Christian faith and was very active in her churches, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Niceville, FL and St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Wilmington, DE. She also served in several leadership roles with the American Association of University Women. She was a very supportive alumnae of Augustana College, Rock Island, IL.
Louise loved each of her grandchildren including Nissa Waples Titterton and Zach, Ethan Waples and Angie, Britt Hoglund, Maeve Hoglund, Marc Hoglund, Andy Hoglund, and Lori Hoglund, and will be missed by all. Louise believed deeply in the arts and higher education and in supporting deserving students and desired that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made as contributions to The Paul Franklin and Louise Anderson Hoglund Scholarship Fund, Augustana College, Rock Island, IL. A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Niceville, FL. A family and friends Celebration Service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 501 Duncan Road, Wilmington, Delaware 19809 at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009. Boone News Republican
