JAMES MUDGE

Funeral services were held for the late James Mudge at the Welin Memorial Chapel July 16, 1964 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. R.G. Foster in charge. Burial was in Moingona Cemetery. Mrs. Ivan Crawford sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", Organist was Mrs. R. G. Foster. Pallbearers were Dutch Sellers, Bill Nash, Ed North, Ab Gill, Boone Nygren and Elmer Engnell. Mrs. Harold Wagner and Mrs. James Kennedy were on the flower committee. James Mudge, son of Julia Fyock and James Mudge was born at Woodward, Ia September 7, 1888 and died at Boone Ia. July 13, 1964 at the age of 76 years, ten months and six days. He was married to Alfreda Roadstrom December 29, 1909 at Boone, Ia. and to this union two children were born. Mr. Mudge lived in Moingona and Boone Ia. and was a coal miner by occupation. He attended the Moingona Community Church and was a member of the United Mine Workers. His hobby was fishing and Whittling and music. Mr. Mudge was preceded in death by his father James Mudge, his mother Julia Mudge, a half sister Cynthia Martin and one brother Lyman. Survivors are his wife, Freda; two children, Mrs. Arnold Hefte and Emery Mudge, both of Boone; 3 grandchildren, Mrs. Loren Ellsbury, Barbara Lynn Mudge, and P.F.C. Ronald Mudge of the U.S. Marine Corps in Okinawa; 2 sisters, Mrs. J.D. Tennant of Mason City and Mrs. Otto May of Boone, and several nieces and nephews.
