Nina A. Simpson, 96, died Friday, October 17, 2008 at her home in the Story County Long Term Care Facility, Nevada, IA. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 22 at The Rose of Ames Theater Room 1315 Coconino Rd., Ames. Private burial will be at Linwood Cemetery in Boone.
Nina was born in Boone and lived in several communities before moving to Ames in 1993. She worked for the Mary Greeley Hospital and was a member of the First Christian Church in Ames.
Nina is survived by two sons, Kenneth E. Peterson of Suffolk, England and Michael Washburn of Montrose, CO; two sisters, Sylvia Marie Stemm of Ames and Betty Johnson of Boone; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack B. Simpson in 1992; two infant sons; five brothers and one sister. Boone News Republican
