Rosemary (Pfaff) Hasstedt, 80, of Ogden, died suddenly Tuesday morning, Jan. 20, 2009 at Boone County Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23 at St. John's Catholic Church in Ogden with Father Brian Danner officiating. Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil at 7 p.m., at the church. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Jefferson. Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden is in charge of the arrangements.
Rosemary Pfaff was born June 2, 1928 in Jefferson, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Gosar) Pfaff. She graduated with the Jefferson High School class of 1945. Following high school, Rosemary attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls and later Drake University in Des Moines. She taught third grade at Howe Elementary School in Ogden for over 30 years.
Rosemary was a member of the Iowa Teacher's Association. She was also a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Ogden where she served on the Rosary Society. Rosemary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was an animal lover.
Survivors include two daughters, Rozanne (Kent) Braynard of Des Moines, and Becky Lingren of Ames; and four grandchildren, Tony Jones, Tari (Marshall) Baker, Erik Lingren, and Kelly Lingren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials will be used to establish a scholarship fund in her name.
