FUNERAL PETER GORSUCH IS HELD

Funeral Held at Albia With Dr. Clarence Defur of This City in Charge

Deceased Had Lived in This City for the Past Two Years - Born in Tingley

The funeral services for Peter Gorsuch, were held in Albia, Iowa, Tuesday with Dr. Clarence Defur, pastor of the First Christian church of Madrid, in charge of the discourse. Interment was made in the Avery cemetery just a few miles from Albia. Mrs. Ray Pope of Des Moines sang a number of songs during the services.
Mr. Gorsuch had been in poor health for a number of years, but in the past few months his condition became more serious and gradually his failing health became noticeable. Mr. Gorsuch passed away at the home of his son-in-law, William White, of this city, Sunday morning. His death, although not unexpected, came as a shock to his family and friends.
Mr. Gorsuch was born in Tingley, Iowa, February 4, 1870. His boyhood life was spent in the Albia community, and in 1905 he moved to Lone Rock, Arkansas, where he lived for a period of about seven years, moving at that time to Winnett, Montana, where he lived until 1932, when he came to this community.
He was married in 1904 while at Albia. The deceased lived in the local community but a short time but made many friends here that will regret his passing.
He is survived by his wife, one sister, Miss Mary Gorsuch, of Tingley, and three brothers, Eslie, of Long Beach, California; Calvin, of Austin Minnesota, and George, of Tingley.
He united with the United Presbyterian church of Albia, when but a young man and later transferred his membership to Winett, Montana, the membership of which he was holding at the time of his death.
