Norma Jean Winegarden, daughter of Duncan and Katherine Grant, was born on April 25, 1925, at Madrid, Iowa, and passed away at her home in Deep River, Iowa, on October 27, 1977.
She attended elementary and high school in Madrid, and attended A.I.B. in Des Moines. In 1945, she graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in Des Moines, and worked for Dr. Harold Peasley, until she married Leland Wineland Winegarden of Deep River, Iowa. To this marriage were born three children, Marsha, David and John.
Norma and family made their home in Deep River, and until her health failed, she was an active member of the Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxilliary.
She was preceded in death by her father, Duncan Grant, of Madrid, in August, 1977.
Norma is survived by her husband, Leland; their three children and families; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Pietzler, of Millersburg, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. David Winegarden, of Iowa City, and Mr. and Mrs. John Winegarden, of Deep River; six grandchildren; and her mother, Katherine Grant of Deep River.
She will be missed by all of her many relatives and friends.
