Charles Miller, age 53, of 1515-5th Street, died on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at the Boone County Hospital. Funeral services are Thursday, January 31, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall with Envoy Tim North officiating. Following the service, Charles' body will be cremated.
Charles was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 22, 1954, the son of Price and Darlene (Ware) Miller. He graduated from Boone High School in 1973 and has lived in Boone most of his life. On May 11, 1980, Charles married Vicki Williams in Boone. He was a sanitary engineer for Walters Sanitary Service for the past 15 years. Charles enjoyed wrestling, wood crafting, playing bingo and cards and doing crossword puzzles.
Charles was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of Boone; three sons, Charlie Miller, Jr. of Boone, James Cunningham and wife, Deanna of Collins, and Dennis Van Cannon and wife, Rebecca of Forest Grove, Oregon; a daughter, Brenda Charlet and husband, Pat of Boone; his mother, Darlene Okrzynski of Boone; 8 grandchildren: Amanda Cook, Tristan Cook, Austin Charlet, Kaylee Van Cannon, Katie Van Cannon, River Cunningham, Stormy Cunningham, and Emma Cox. Charles is also survived by three brothers, Richard Miller of Boone, Orville Miller of Ogden, and Ron Miller.
Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service. The family will be present after 1:00 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
