Obituary
Lyle A. Plath 84, of Ogden, Iowa, died, Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames.Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 13, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Rev. Stephen Ude will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Boone Veteran's Council. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00-8:00 P.M., at Carson Funeral Home in Ogden.
Lyle Alfred Plath was born on July 15, 1922, in Amaqua Township, Boone County, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Hannah (Ficken) Plath. Lyle was united in marriage to Thelma Lee Johnson on June 18, 1944. During WWI, he served in the United Stated Armed Forces and was decorated as member of Patton's Third Arm, participating in the Battle of the Bulge and the invasion fo Germany. He was a grain and cattle farmer until his retirement in 1985.
Lyle belonged to Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden.
