Ruby Kinney, 86, of the Prairie Village Apartments in Boone, died Wednesday at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines from complications of a stroke.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall streets, with the Rev. Richard Boatman officiating. Burial will be in the Boone Memorial Gardens.

She was born March 22, 1918, the daughter of Ralph and Sylvia (Rose) Morgan. She attended school in Ogden. In 1934 she married Carl Wisecup in Ogden. The couple later divorced. In 1949 she married E.A. Miller in Perry. He died in 1960. She married Jack Kinney Sept. 24, 1962, in Ogden.

She and her husband Jack owned and operated the Tip Top Tavern in Ogden. In 1968, the couple moved to Boone and they operated the "Korn Korner" popcorn stand at the corner of Ninth and Story streets. She also worked at the former Twelve Bells in Boone and she made homemade pies for the former truck stop on South Story Street and Highway 30. She enjoyed staying with her daughter, shopping, Christmas lights and garage sales.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, two sons Larry and Richard Wisecup and two sisters Vera Barber and Velma Abbott. Survivors include her daughter Dorothy Miller of Des Moines, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, former husband Carl Wisecup of Des Moines, two nieces from Ankeny and Mason City; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends may call today (Friday) from 1 to 9 p.m., where the family will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Visitation continues Saturday at the funeral chapel from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall streets was in charge of the arrangements.
