John T. Pepper, 79, North Liberty, died Oct. 31, 2003, at the Brookhaven Nursing Home in Brooklyn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Gay and Ciha Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Iowa City.

Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.

Mr. Pepper, son of William and Mae (Mott) Pepper, was born on Sept. 4, 1924, in Boone.

He married Norma Mae Buser on Jan. 7, 1956, in Iowa City. He worked at River Products in Iowa City.

He lived in Iowa City and North Liberty before moving to Brooklyn in 1999.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one grandson.

Survivors include one son, William Pepper of Richardson, Texas; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Cathy and Jim Strable of Huxley, Ann Catherine and Frank Rogers of Vinton, Mary and Elgie Goldthwaite of Marion and Susan Pepper and fiance, Jim Poggenpohl of North Liberty; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mary "Bessie" Pepper of Boone.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
