Rogers, Ark.

Funeral services for Paul Amos DeVos, 78, Rogers, Ark., were Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003 at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville with Pastor Earl Siglin officiating.

Mr. DeVos died Sunday, Oct. 26 in Rogers.
Casket bearers were Bill and Roger Smith, Luke and Andy Squiers, Kenneth DeVos and Gerrit Sneller, Jr.

Musical selections were "The Old Rugged Cross", "Victory in Jesus" and "Will the Circle be Unbroken".

Paul DeVos was born March 4, 1925 in Knoxville, the son of Jessie and Cleta Ione (Noftsger) DeVos. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the aircraft carrier USS Savo Island which was in eight major engagements in the Pacific. After the war he attended Bible School in Omaha, Neb.

He married Darlene Smith Dec. 20, 1946.
Paul pastored in churches in Ogden, Tama, Oskaloosa and Colorado. He retired to Rogers in 1980 following several surgeries for old war injuries.

Survivors include his wife Darlene; one son, Steven of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Vicki Squiers of Tama, Connie Seymour of New Monmouth, N.J. and Gloria Treib of Rogers; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard of Casa Grande, Ariz., Donald of Rogers and Harold of Cedar Rapids; five sisters, Dena Dietrick, Lu Etta Martinache and Doris Smith, all of knoxville, Emma Chapman of Des Moines, and Dorothy Friday of Lacona; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jesse Jr. and William.

Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery in rural Marion County, Iowa.

Bybee and Davis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
