Theresa V. Smith, 89, of Boone, died Saturday, April 19 of respiratory failure at the Ogden Manor. Services were Wednesday at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone, with Rev. Clem Currans officiating. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Boone.

Theresa V. Smith was born July 26, 1913, in Adair, the daughter of Patrick and Margaret (O'Toole) Donahue. She graduated from Adair High School. She married Frank C. Smith on May 19, 1941, in Stewart. She was a homemaker and the couple farmed north of Boone. In earlier years, she was a rural schoolteacher.

She was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart and the Altar Society. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing cards. She is survived by one son, John F. Smith of Boone; two grandsons, Scott Smith and his wife Dorothy and Nathan Smith and his wife Andrea, all of Boone; and one great-granddaughter, Malorie Smith of Boone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, John.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone was in charge of the vistation and funeral arrangements.
