Marie Taylor, 94, a resident of the Evangelical Free Church Home, Boone, and formerly of 1130 Hancock Drive, Boone, died Friday at the home of congestive heart failure. She had been a resident of the home since December of 1996. She was born June 6, 1908, in Boone, the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Strine) Modeland. She married Clarence W. Taylor Sept. 30, 1928, in South Bend, IN.

She was a homemaker. She and her husband lived in South Bend for a number of years before she moved to Boone in 1988. Her hobbies included playing bridge and supporting the Boone Area Humane Society. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Boone.

Her parents, her husband in July of 1986, three sisters and four brothers proceded her in death. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery in Glidden with the Rev. Dean Fullerton officiating.

No visitation will be scheduled

Stark-Welin Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
