Jane M. Koenig, 55, Boone, died Thursday at her home of respiratory failure. She was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Milo, the daughter of Otto and Gladys Riley. She attended school in Boone, and lived most of her life in Boone. She married Thomas Koenig on Aug. 16, 1961 in Bentonville, AR.
She worked as a home healthcare aide in Story County. She enjoyed collecting different figurines, Indian Dolls and China Dolls, and shot glasses.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents. Survivors include her daughter, Tisha Koenig of Boone, three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Tracy Koenig of Boone, Patrick Koenig of Ames, and Robert and Elaine Koenig of Boone; eight grandchildren, Jasmine Koenig, Donovan Erickson, Kirsten Koenig, James Gregory, Teresa Ball and her husband Roy, all of Boone, Mary Johnson and her husband Scott of Dayton, and Ann Young of Rudd; six great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Matthew Ball of Boone, Kimberly Christina and Michael Johnson of Dayton, and Brice and Megan Young of Rudd; three sisters, Darlene Seago of Pilot Mound, Mary Anderson of Pilot Mound, and Florence Riley of Perry; one brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Betty Riley of Beatrice, NE, and one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Robert Ahrens of Boone.
There was a private family service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.
Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, 503 Story Street, was in charge of arrangements.
