Eleanor Rosengreen 1917-2005

Eleanor Rosengreen died December 13, 2005, at the Eastern Star Home.

Eleanor James was born in Carlisle, Iowa on June 5, 1917. Her family moved to Indianola where she graduated from high school.

Eleanor attended and graduated with a two-year degree from American Institute of Business and was hired as a bookkeeper for the Boone Dairy in 1937.

She married Harold Rosengreen on February 19, 1939. They had three children, Ronald (Pam) Rosengreen of Boone, Dawn (Tim) Glass of Cedar Rapids, and Sandra (Randy) Davidson of Redmond, Washington. They have eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

During her life in Boone, Eleanor was very involved in the community. She was an avid gardener and belonged to the Boone County Garden Club. She was a lifelong member of a neighborhood club called ODO. She was a member and served as an officer of the Boone Gradatum Club, TTT, PEO.

She received a 1,000 hour pin for her volunteer work at the Boone County Hospital.

Eleanor was an active member of the United Methodist Church and served as chairperson of the United Methodist Women.

The funeral service will be Saturday, December 17, 2005, at the United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Visitation will follow the service.
