Donald Weitzel 1954-2006

Donald 'Don' Weitzel, age 51, of 307-16th Street died at his home on June 20, 2006. His body has been cremated and there will be no services. Family and friends are invited to the Weitzel home Sunday, June 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. for a time of remembering and fellowship.

Don was born in Boone on November 8, 1954, the son of Reuben and Alice (Hellstrom) Weitzel. Don received his GED from Boone High School. He was an electrician and was employed with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #55. He later was employed with Walters Sanitary Service.

Don liked to camp and fish, play his guitar, watch NASCAR, and shop. He was preceded in death by his parents. Don is survived by three sons, Donovan Harris of Plainview, Texas, Shawn Furman of Nevada, Iowa, and Nathan Weitzel of Roscoe, Illinois; a grandson, Chase Smith; and his fiancée, Bonnie Barker of Boone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall is in charge of arrangements.
