JAMES - GODFREY WEDDING AT LITTLE BROWN CHURCH
Announcement is made of the marriage of Mrs. Rena Godfrey of Madrid and Mrs. Earl James, 1101 Seventh street, which was solemnized at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa, Sunday, November 18th, at 3:30 o'clock in the afternoon. The Rev. F. L. Hanscom officiated at the wedding service, for which the wedding march and nuptial music was played by Mrs. Hanscom.
Mr. and Mrs. Goerge Menzies of Boone attended the couple. After the single ring ceremony, the traditional song, "The Church in the Wildwood" was played by the organist. Also complying with tradition, the couple rang the church bell which has been in use since 1864.
The bride wore a silver blue tailored suit with matching accessories and a corsage of white gardenias and Talisman roses. Mrs. Menzies ware a aqua dress with a corsage of pink and white roses.
Prceding the ceremony, the bridal foursome enjoyed a wedding dinner at the Ravenwood Inn in New Hampton.
Mr. and Mrs. James left for a trip through eastern Iowa and Wisconsin dells, to return through southern Illinois. The bride has been employed at the Ankeny Ordnance plant and Mr. James is employed at the C. & N. W. shops in this city. They have purchased a home at First and Marshall streets, where they will be at home when they return from their wedding trip.---probably from the Boone newspaper. The wedding took place November 18th, 1945.
