Henry Hagge is the owner of an excellent farm of 150 acres on section 19, Yell township, and has continuously resided thereon from his birth to the present time. H was born in august 1875, a son of Hans and Catherina (Keuhl) Hagge, more extended mention of whom is made on another page of this work in connection with the sketch of H J Hagge, brother of our subject.
Henry Hagge attended the district schools in the acquirement of an education and as reared to manhood on the home farm. He was married when in his thirty-fifth year, and his father then left the farm to take up his abode I Ogden. A year later Henry Hagge purchased the home place, comprising 154 cress on section 19, Yell township, which has since remained in his possession and which he has operated with good success. It is a valuable and productive tract, equipped with modern conveniences and improvements, and its attractive appearance indicates his careful supervision and practical methods.
In January 1910, Mr Hagge was united in marriage to Miss Martha Markman, a daughter of William and Minnie Markman, who are natives of Germany and emigrated to the United States in 1883. The father, a miller by trade, first devoted his attention to agricultural pursuit in Kansas and later in Nebraska. Both Mr and Mrs Markman are now living retired in Boone. Our subject and his wife have one child, Louis, who is three years of age.
Mr Hagge gives his political allegiance to the democracy, believing firmly n the principles of that party. His religious faith is that of the German Lutheran church. He ahs won many fiends in the community were his entire life has been spent and is widely recognized as a prosperous agriculturalist and representative citizen.
