Philip Meyer, farmer, Sec 29, P O Ogden, was born in Alscace, France, in the 1837, and when young his parents, Dorothy and Andrew Meyer, emigrated to the United States, in 1839 they settled in Illinois, and are present residents of Henry county, the subject of this sketch was raised there and in 1875 came to this county, settling on his present farm, in 1876 he went to Ogden and for eighteen months was engaged in selling goods and then returned to his farm of 160 acres, in 1860 he married Miss Sarah Luther, a native of Illinois, they have one child living, Edward P and one deceased, Clara J, Mr Meyer is a member of the Evangelical Association
