C Hourigan, farmer, Sec 25 P O Boone, was born November 12, 1833 in Ireland, county Limerick and was raised on a farm, then nineteen years of age, his parents died, he came to the United States, landing in New York, he located in Essex county New York, and engaged in farming there for about five years and then went to Wisconsin and there farmed, at the end of three years he went to Memphis where he was drafted into the rebel army and served about eighteen months, and at the second day of the battle of Shiloh came to the Union army and was employed as a teamster, serving in that capacity until the close of the war, he then returned to New York and in 1868 came to Iowa and located where he now lives, owning 40 acres of land, was married August 10, 1865, to Miss Anna Maghar, a native of the county Tipperary, Ireland, they have no children
