H Goeppinger, of the firm of L & H Goeppinger, manufacturers, wholesale and retail dealers in harness and saddlery hardware, etc, Boone, was born in Germany in 1843, and accompanied his parents to the United States in 1851, and settled in Columbiana county, Ohio, he learned the trade of tanner and followed it for a number of years as an occupation, in 1866 he came to Boone and with his brother established his present business, in which they have a large patronage, they have built up their trade by adhering to principle of honor and honesty, and fully merit the esteem in which they are held, Mr Gorppinger has ever taken great interest in educationa matters, and at the present time is president of the board of education of the city, he married Miss Anna M Labeau in 1867, she was a native of Ohio, they have a family of four children: Caroline, John H, Emma and Matilda
