Thos S Boyd, county auditor, was born in Clinton county, Iowa on the 15th day of April 1844; he was raised a farmer and came to this county in April 1869, and has been largely engaged in farming and stock business in connection with his father and brothers; his farm contains 160 acres; he has given a great deal of attention to raising the grade of stock in the county; he has never been a political aspirant, but yielding to the wishes of his frinds he was elected to his present office in 1879; he was married to Miss Augusta E Hess in 1875; she was born in Clinton county; Mrs. B died June 9, 1879, leaving one daughter Mattie E; they lost one same Charles R.
