James John, farmer, Sec 34, P O Boone, farmer Sec 34, P O Boone, was born in Chester county, Pennsylvania, November 16, 1801, he was raised there on a farm till eighteen years of age and also received his education in the schools of that county, in 1819 he emigrated to Muskingum county, Ohio, and made it his home till he came to this county in 1855, he has lived on his present farm since 1858 and now owns 520 acres of land, he was elected justice of the peace in an early day and has also held various township offices, he as married in Muskingum county, Ohio in 1828, to Miss Mary Gibbons, of that state, who died June 14, 1873 and left a family of three sons and one daughter now living: Edward D, Jas W, George J and Margaret (now the wife of William Collins, of this township), his ancestry on his father’s side, were of Welsh descent, his grandfather having come from Wales and on his mother’s side, of German origin
