George W Emerson, farmer, Sec 1, P O Ogden, was born in New Hampshire, October 14, 1829, he there grew to manhood a farmer, was raised and educated in the common schools, and lived there until 1857, then moved to the state of Illinois, living there until 1872, then came to this county and located where he now resides, he was married to Miss Martha M Martin, by the Rev L C Brown, April 15, 1850, she is a native of New Hampshire, born September 13, 1831, they have a family of two children: John F ( born May 6, 1852) and Ida M (born January 8, 1859), have lost two Hattie (born July 1, 1863) and Charles G (born January 8, 1865, died August 15, 1875) he owns a farm of 105 acres well improved and is a man highly respected in the community where he resides
