Jacob Stevens, proprietor of meat market and stock dealer, Boone, was born in Franklin county, Pennsylvania, on May 26, 1835, and when an infant was taken by his parent to Wayne county, Ohio, where he was raised until seventeen years of age, and then removed to Lucas county, where he followed his present business, he came to Boone county in 1865, and established his present business, and is on of Boone’s most prosperous business men, he owns, beside his business interest, 475 acres of well-improved land, and ones the farm on which the first breaking was done in the county, he was married to Miss Lucretia C Brown, in 1855, she was born in Vermont, they have a family of six children: Luella (wife of LeRoy D Sparks,), Ida F, George E, Mary L , Jacob A and Abbie
