A J Nutter, manufacturer and jobber and retail dealer in confectionery, Boone, was born in Bath, Maine, on November 23, 1846, and raised there until he was fifteen years of age, in 1867 he came to this county and settled in Moingona and commence clerking, he afterward engaged in business for himself, and in August 1878, came to this city and established his present business, he is a self-made man, commencing without means, he has by economy, fair dealing and close attention to business built up a large and constantly increasing trade, he married Miss H E Gurney in 1867, she was native of Newport, Maine, they have two children: Harry C and Claire E
