Am looking for descendants of Eliza (or Elisa) Jane LEWIS BROWN, dau of Miles B. LEWIS and Hannah Maria KELSEY, b. Sharon, CT June 23, 1845, died Nov 17 1889 in Waterloo, Iowa. Wife of Allen BROWN, whom I believe was also born in CT, died near Waterloo, Dec 19, 1890, aged about 48/49. Eliza and Allen were m. July 2, 1862 in Sharon, CT. Their children were: Nellie Marie b. East Bridgeport, CT, March 31st, 1864; George Lewis b.Sharon CT, Dec. 28th 1867; William b. Sharon, CT, Aug. 15th 1867, d. Sept 24th 1868, Waterloo; Julia Louisa b. Waterloo Aug. 13th [15th?] 1869; Fannie May b.Waterloo Aug 23, 1871, d. July 2, 1880; Lollie Louella b.Waterloo, March 7 [9?] 1874; Harry Kelsey b. Waterloo, Sept 1st, 1876; Miles Leigh b. Waterloo, Feb 3rd, 1877; Bessie Alice b. Waterloo, May 20th [?] 1881; Ben. Hawley b. Waterloo, May 16, 1884; Glenn Charley b. Waterloo May 8, 1887; Elisa b. Waterloo, Nov. 7, 1889. For a long time, I thought Eliza died childless. However, a cousin recently found a ledger of old family records kept by Eliza's father, from which the above information was gleamed. Since both Eliza and Allen died when they had very small children, and since I can find no record of the children being shipped back east to their relatives, I'm very curious as what became of them. I'm assuming they may have stayed with their older siblings. I have many family records I would like to share with these distant cousins, should I be able to locate them.
