Carll or Carl family, 1870-1900

CARL, CARLL, SUMMERS, LEDGEWOOD

Looking for any info on JAMES CARL(CARLL). He was born in Waterloo on Feb. 8, 1870. Parents were James W. and Mary E SUMMERS. James M's wife was Antoinette LEDGEWOOD. James went on to become the first police chief on Cedar Rapids in 1908. He remained the police chief until about 1914. He might of had a sister by the name of Elenor Carl. There is also a Matthew Carll, not sure where he fits in.
I have a piture of Grandma and Grandpa Carll taken at the Union Gallery, photographed by BLACKHALL. T. Dwight, Jr.,Proprietor. Any info on this? Elysa
