Gilbertville, Iowa - Elizabeth "Lil" Sondag, 95, of 605 16th Ave., died Thursday, July 15, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born May 13, 1898, in Gilbertville, daughter of Mike and Anna Marx Weber. She married Nick Sondag on September 28, 1921 in Gilbertville. He died April 10, 1979.

Survivors include five daughters, Elma Mangrich, Irma Frost, Joanne Odneal and Carol Becker, all of Gilbertville, and Geneva Madsen of Big Fork, Minnesota; two sisters, Margaret Schmitz of La Porte City and Victoria Burger of Jesup; 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and John Weber.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Oppold-Hagarty Funeral Home, Waterloo, where there will be a 3 p.m. rosary by the Rosary Society, a 7 p.m. rosary, and an 8 p.m. vigil service; friends may also call an hour before services at the church Monday.

Memorials may be directed to the church and Don Bosco High School.
