Jesup--Mrs. Susan Demuth, 67, of Waterloo, mother of Albert Demuth, died at 11:30 on Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital of complications following a recent stroke.
She was born Dec. 18, 1881, the daughter of John and Clara Wagner in Korporich, Germany and she came to the United States at the age of 9. She was married to Nicholas Demuth Oct. 29, 1903 and moved to Waterloo in 1935. Mr. Demuth died Dec. 15, 1945.
Survivors are four sons, Albert, of Jesup; John, of Independence; Bernard, of Gilbertville; and Lawrence, of Luxemburg, IA; three daughters, Mrs. Clara Allen, of Des Moines; and Mrs. Emily Stefan, of Waterloo; 30 grandchildren; a sister, Anna Wirtz, of Jesup; and three brothers, Phillip, of La Porte City; Nicholas, of Missouri; and Nick Lavenz, a step-brother, of Waterloo.
