Thomas Pint, former Gilbertville barber and poolroom operator, died at 4:10 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the Black Hawk County Home, where he had been a private patient. He had been unable to work since suffering a paralytic stroke two years ago, and had been a patient at the Home for a year. He was 66 years old. He was born on 3-10-1875 at Gilbertville, he was the son of Leonard and Mary Gilley Pint.
After spending 19 years in Oklahoma, Kansas, and New Mexico, the family returned about 22 years ago to Gilbertville. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gilbertville, and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Waterloo.
Mr. Pint was married in Gilbertvilleon 2-8-1899 to Emma Holbach, who now lives in Raymond. Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Adrian Becker, Plainfield, IA; and four sons, Lawrence of Cedar Falls, Harold E., Bernard, and Justin, all of Raymond. There are 12 grandchildren. Two other daughters, Regina and Leona, died in 1918, while the family lived in New Mexico.
There are also four brothers and two sisters who survive: Jacob, 409 East 2cnd St.; Matt, St. Paul, Minn; Phil, Berrington Twp.; William, Raymond; Mrs. John Gales, 312 Lafayette ST.; and Mrs. Kathryn Kascht, 821 Randolph St.
Funeral Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Raymond by Rev. Louis Putz, pastor. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's cemetery there.
The body was taken to Parker Funeral Home in Jesup, but will be at the widow's home in Raymond aft Saturday morning.
