JACOB MANGRICH, 60, OF GILBERTVILLE,

DROPS DEAD IN WATERLOO
Jacob Mangrich, age about 60, Gilbertville, did a few minutes after walking into the McDermott cigar store on Fifth street east today at 1:30 p.m. Mangrich had just driven in from Gilbertville and taken a seat when he fainted. Efforts to revive him with a pulmotor failed.
Mr. Mangrich was a pioneer resident of Poyner township. He resided on a farm near Gilbertville for many years. Surviving are the widow and several children.

Funeral services for Jacob Mangrich, who died from an apoplectic stroke while in the McDermott cigar store, shortly after noon Saturday, will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gilbertville, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the church yard. Mr. Mangrich, who is a native of Iowa, was born in Jan. 1859. He was an officer in the Gilbertville bank and a large land owner in Poyner township. He is survived by the widow and ten children: Mrs. John Frost, John Mangrich, Mrs. Val Schmitt, Sister Mary Theila, Mrs. John Schares, Sister Mary Alcoque, Sister Mary Katherine, Joe Mangrich, Mrs. Rose Mangrich, and Peter Mangrich. With the exception of the sisters, all the children reside in this county.
