Mrs William Schares, 87, of the Woodlawn Convalescent Home, died there at 6 p.m. Thursday of complications of her age.
She was born Fanny Mary Golinvaux 9-10-1884, the daughter of Gust and Ida Butterfield Golinvaux.
She married William Schares on 10-11-1905 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on in August, 1967.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Gilbertville, and a member of the Third Order of St. Frances.
She is survived by three sons, Paul of La Porte, James, of Waterloo, Francis of Gilbertville: four daughters, Mrs. E. H. Olinger, Waterloo, Mrs. William Weber, Gilbertville, Mrs. Clem McGrane of Texarcana, TX, and Mrs. Dan Straul of Jesup. 35 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren. Two brothers, Fred of Waterloo, and Herbert of Albany, California, two sisters, Mrs. Jen O'Connor of San Leos(?), California, and a sister Francis Clare of Mt. Carmel, Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Gilbertville. Rosary services will be at the Oppold Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and at 3 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday.
Friends may call at the Oppold Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Saturday.
